Who owns this site?

This site was started by Lora Pope (that’s me). I’m going to stop talking about myself in the third person now because it’s weird.

I’ve been traveling the world solo for over a decade, visiting over 70 countries and documenting my travels on my main website, Explore with Lora.

I’ve grown that brand to over 100,000 monthly readers and followers and have been featured in and written for many major travel publications.

In March 2021, I came to Puerto Vallarta for the first time and instantly fell in love.

I knew on my second day here that there was something magical about the city, and it was a place I wanted to return to again and again. So I started this website as an excuse to come back!

This says a lot about Puerto Vallarta because it’s rare that I visit the same place twice – let alone move permanently!

In 2022, I returned three more times, and each visit was as magical as I remembered.

Now the city is my main base – and I’m in the process of buying an apartment here!

My passion is helping travelers like you cross Puerto Vallarta off your bucket list and ensuring you get the best possible experience while visiting.

But it’s a lot of work managing multiple websites, so I also have some local experts who help me write content.

The other main contributor is Sasha Savinov from Grateful Gnomads. He is a teacher, writer, and video producer from Detroit, Michigan.

Sasha has been living on and off in Puerto Vallarta for the last five years with his wife, Rachel, and is an expert in finding the city’s best tacos, craft beers, and live music.

With our combined knowledge, you’ll get the perspective of a solo female traveler and a couple who have over eight years of experience living in Puerto Vallarta.
