Top Puerto Vallarta ATV Tours

#1. Private Puerto Vallarta ATV Adventure

⭐️ 5/5 (600+ reviews) | 🕓 3 hours | Check availability here

Of all the ATV tours in Puerto Vallarta, this one has some of the best reviews. It has a perfect 5-star rating on Viator, with over 600 reviews in total, so they must be doing something right!

Xiutla Riders office in the 5 de Diciembre neighborhood of Puerto Vallarta, which is my personal favorite. Be sure to explore this traditional ‘hood before or after your tour.

They only run private tours, so you won’t be in a huge group waiting for a bunch of people. This tour starts out with a cruise through central PV.

From there, you’ll head up into the mountains. Enjoy the scenery and the fresh mountain air en route to a hidden bar in the Sierra Madre. You can have a drink and snack, take a dip in the river, or just chill out.

What an amazing and fun experience! This may sound corny (hehe), but it was so peaceful, exciting, and we felt like we were on a dream or something as we rode through the streets of Puerto Vallarta and through the small villages (towns) on our way to the jungle!

They provide you with a helmet, bandana, and goggles to ensure your comfort on the ride. This tour is fine for people with no ATV experience, so beginners are more than welcome to join. Click here to reserve your spot.

#2. Sierra Madre ATV Adventure

⭐️ 5/5 (500+ reviews) | 🕓 3 1/2 hours | Check availability here

It turns out that 5 de Diciembre is a hub for Puerto Vallarta ATV tours, as this one also starts there. It’s a half-day adventure put on by Estigo Tours, and it also has rave reviews.

The tour starts out with a ride-along PV’s famous Malecon. Next up is a cruise along back streets through the outlying villages into the mountains.

There are a couple of stops on this tour where you can buy food and drinks. You can also learn how to make tortillas, and there’s even a free tequila/mezcal tasting.

The guides were great & the views were immaculate! The stop for the tequila tasting was also a BLAST! I purchased food, drinks, & a nice bottle of tequila from there. I would 10/10 do this again!

Just remember that you’re operating heavy machinery, and don’t overdo it! You can buy a bottle to take home and enjoy after the tour. Click here to reserve your spot on this super fun AVT tour in Puerto Vallarta.

#3. Jorullo Bridge Experience

⭐️ 4.5/5 (150+ reviews) | 🕓 5.5 hours | Check availability here

When it comes to ATV tours, this one offers one of the most unique experiences. That’s because you get to drive an ATV (or a RZR) across the epic Jorullo Bridge.

This is the longest suspension bridge in all of Latin America. While crossing it on your ATV, you’ll get to enjoy some incredible panoramic views of the mountains and the river below. Don’t worry – there’s a chance to stop in the middle of the bridge to snap some epic photos.

In addition to the bridge crossing, you also have the chance to ride on dirt roads to a waterfall. It’s the perfect spot to jump in and wash all that dirt off after a big ride.

Fun and friendly staff, great restaurant at the end of the tour. The hanging bridges were cool and not as scary as they seem! The waterfall was refreshing.

You may notice a trend here as this tour also includes a free tequila tasting. What can I say other than “Viva Mexico?” Click here to read more and book your place.

#4. ATV Zipline Combo Adventure

⭐️ 4.5/5 (60+ reviews) | 🕓 5 hours | Check availability here

For those who want an extra dose of excitement, this 2-in-1 combo tour is a perfect choice. It’s a half-day adventure that includes an AVT ride as well as several exciting zip lines.

This adrenaline-fueled excursion begins at the Wild Trek office near the airport. You are briefed on the ATVs and safety precautions before heading up into the mountains.

After the exhilarating ATV ride, the fun continues with a course of eight different ziplines. You also have the option to take a short hike to add on four more.

At this point in the post, I don’t even have to tell you what else this tour includes. That’s right – your favorite blu agave-distilled beverage is featured on this adventure as well.

This takes place at a restaurant, where although food is not included, guests of the tour seem to find it worth the extra cost before the trip back to town.

If the zipline is so much fun that you just have to go for more, be sure to check out our post about the best zipline tours in PV!

Great and unique experience staff is super professional they take you step by step, super fun I recommend to anyone going to puerto Vallarta it’s a must!

#5. Jungle Side By Side Adventure

Photo from Viator

⭐️ 4.5/5 (30+ reviews) | 🕓 3.5 hours | Check availability here

This one is slightly different than the other ATV tours in Puerto Vallarta, as you ride in an open-sided buggy. It’s the same idea, just a slightly different vehicle.

The buggies are nice because they are a bit more shielded from the elements than your traditional ATVs. It’s still an absolute blast ripping down the back mountain roads in one of these bad boys, though.

So much fun!!! The tequila tasting and the authentic Mexican restaurant at the end of the tour were AMAZING. 10/10 would def recommend. Be prepared to get DIRTY!!! 🤣

This adventure takes you past local villages to a waterfall, where you can swim in a river-fed pool. Then it’s on to an amazing viewpoint high above the Cuale River.

The tour ends with – you guessed it – a tequila tasting! It’s also possible to order lunch at the riverfront restaurant for an extra cost.

A Note About ATV Tours

While these ATV tours are all fun and safe, it’s important to have travel insurance for such outings. Accidents do happen, and you want to be prepared.

Also, I would advise you to not consume any cervezas or margaritas before the tour. As you can see, basically every tour includes a tequila tasting. Save the real partying for when you get back to Zona Romantica.
